This pattern 1910 garrison belt is made of light green web material and closes via a two-piece tongue and wreath buckle made of brass.

The body of the belt is in excellent condition. It is both strong and clean. Attached to one end is a darkened brass tongue with the raised letters “U.S.” Attached to the opposite end is a plain darkened brass wreath.

Also attached to the belt on either side of the buckle are two web pouches for carrying a 5-round clip of rifle ammunition. Each pocket is fastened by a rimmed eagle snap that is marked on the underside “MILLS MILITARY FASTENER.” Marked on the underside of the pouch flap is “MILLS” (within the outline of a rifle cartridge) and the date 1916. Also has sliding bayonet frog. The inside of the belt is stenciled with crossed cannons and “4” over “88”.

A minty Garrison Belt with ammo pockets. [jet] [ph:L]
