Leather belt meas. approx. 1.75 inches wide x 43.50 inches long. Leather is in very good condition with only minor scuffs on one end.

Die struck steel, box type buckle with a nickel or silver plated finish. It features a plain field with a central embossed insignia of a fireman’s helmet above a crossed ax and ladder. The insignia is within a circular border of dots on both the inner and outer edges. The circular border has an embossed motto of “GOTT ZUR EHR – DEM NACHSTEN ZUR WEHR” or “GOD TO HONOR, NEIGHBOR TO DEFEND.” There is minor chipping to the finish around the insignia.

The reverse of the buckle is a mirror image of the obverse. The reverse has the keeper and the prong bar with two prongs. Buckle has no maker’s mark.
