This approximately 3 feet by 5 feet Confederate Battle flag is, but for material, and construction, a perfect facsimile of the flag issued out of Dalton Georgia in the Spring of 1864 to the A of T.  Those were made of wool bunting and hand sewn. This, our example, is certainly 100 years old and is made of cotton and is machine, zigzag, stitched. It has a few insect holes but retains great color. Probably made for the United Confederate Veterans, it is penned on the white bars, hoist side top and bottom with "P. HILL" (A.P. HILL?) and "GEORGIA".  This is a nice display alternative to the real thing at six figures.   [pe][ph:L]
