Original United Confederate Veteran’s Assistant Inspector General ribbon for the 1934 National UCV Reunion held in Chattanooga, Tennessee from June 6-8, 1934.
This is a three-piece suspension badge with ribbon. The top bar measures 1 ¾” long and 7/8” wide. It is brass with an engraved scene from Lookout Mountain and “CHATTANOOGA” written underneath. Wire circular rings suspend holding the second bar which reads “ASSISTANT/ INSPECTOR GENERAL”. The second bar measures 2” long and a ½” wide. The third piece, a brass medallion with an enameled centered Confederate flag, is suspended from the second bar. On the boarder of the medallion is a laurel wreath, encircled around 1934, and “U.C.V REUNION” centered over the Confederate flag.
Suspended from the badge pin is one red and one white silk ribbon, both are in very good condition.
On reverse, the pin moves smoothing in and out of the fascinator. The back of the medallion is stamped “CHATTANOOGA/ BUTTON & BADGE MFG CO./ CHATTANOOGA, TENN.” [ mc] [ph:L]
