Here is an odd bullet. It started out as a .58 caliber, two-groove, Gardner bullet.

It was definitely “pulled” but the question is, by what? The nose of the bullet is now flat with a large diameter, threaded hole running down the center. The hole extends so far that a large “teat” has been created in the cavity. By the size of the hole, my guess is that somehow the threaded end of the ramrod was used. But that does not explain the flat nose.

Nice rifling grooves on the sides and a perfect white patina.
