CDV is a waist-up view of a Confederate private wearing a medium-colored shell jacket open to reveal a matching military vest beneath.

Contrast and clarity are very good. Image is cut n an oval and glued to a mount with a brown paper backing. Image is fine but the paper backing of the mount shows some silverfish action and light surface dirt to the edges.

Reverse has a photographer’s imprint for H. N. WEVERE, RICHMOND, VA. There is also some collector information in pencil at bottom.

Photo is from the collection of the late William A. Turner. [AD] [PH:L]
