Image is a CDV bust view of a bearded gentleman identified only as “DR. HOPSON.” He wears a long beard over the dark collar of a light-colored jacket.
Contrast and clarity is very good. Mount and paper have light to moderate surface dirt. Bottom center of the mount has a period pencil ID of “DR. HOPSON.”
Reverse has no photographer’s imprint. Top has a strong ink ID of “DR. HOPSON.” There is also some collector information in pencil at bottom.
Image is from the collection of the late William A. Turner.
Research failed to reveal any further information. [ad][ph:L]
