This Cab Card photo features a clear and very interesting view of a hired hunting guide and smartly-dressed client.

The hunter wears a suit with vest, a simple hat, and is resting his hands on the muzzle of his lever-action rifle.  The guide is better prepared with a practical hat, full pack, heavy suspenders, wool trousers, and workman’s shirt with cravat, and some type of low-profile shoes or boots.  His rifle is at the ready and he is looking directly at the camera.

The bottom half of the photo shows minor spotting, likely an error during development, but the card is in wonderful condition. Original gold leafing is present along the edges of the card, as are the gold-lettered markings “A.S. Pratt” and “Phillips, Me.”

The reverse of the card is marked by pen in cursive, “A guide and his Sportman from Kentucky”.

Overall card length is 6.5” and width is just shy of 4.5”.  [cm][ph:L]
