Lovely 1880s ivory lace wedding bonnet ivory lace wedding bonnet from the Texas Civil War Museum collection. The wire-frame bonnet is completely covered in ivory lace with ribbon bow accents. The dozens of pieces of lace edging and embroidery were skillfully planned and carefully joined together to create a pleasing effect. The brim of the bonnet is faced with ivory silk; an elaborate ruche of ribbon loops and narrow lace edging fill in the space between the brim and the hair. The bavolet extends in a graceful oval accenting the back of the head.  There are two short narrow ribbon ties. The ivory silk lining is badly shattered.

Condition: Fair to good. Some discoloration on lace, severe shattering in silk lining.  [cs][ph:L]
