Charming petite ivory lace wedding bonnet c.1880s from the Texas Civil War Museum collection. The crown tapers in height from front to back; circular medallions of white work embroidery adorn the top and sloping back of the crown. The front and sides of the crown are covered in tiny loops of ⅛"-wide ivory silk ribbon and bows of ¾"-wide ivory ribbon. An additional ribbon rosette attached to a narrow silk ribbon hangs from each side of the crown The hat is lined in ivory silk.

Overall measurements: 5 ¾ " front-to-back, 5" side-to-side. Crown 3" high in the front, 2" high in the back.


Condition: Good-very good. Some discoloration on lace, some shattering in silk lining.   [cs][ph:L]
