Child’s mid-19th century straw hat from the Texas Civil War Museum. The hat is styled with a medium-high crown and a narrow brim with a pencil curl edge. The base of the crown is trimmed with pale blue ruched silk ribbon with feathered edges. A cluster of ribbon loops accents the front of the crown.

Overall measurements:  9" front to back, 8.5" side to side. Crown: 5.5" front to back, 5" side to side. Brim: 3" deep in the front, tapering to 2" at the center back.

Condition: Fair to good. The straw is intact except for a 4” long area at the center front where the brim is damaged where is begins to curl. The ribbons show areas of fading.  [cs][ph:L]
