Circa 1890s black straw hat. Small oval crown sits on an oval brim that is turned up in the back. Two red and pink silk roses with leaves accent the right side of the crown; a spray of silk leaves and ivory buds tipped with pink surround the remainder of the crown and under the turned-up back brim. Black straw lace edges the outer edge of the brim; the underside of the brim is covered in black silk lace with a lace edging. The crown is lined with dark brown glazed cotton. Measurements: 10" wide x 11½" deep overall. Brim - 2" deep in the back, 3½" deep in the front. Crown - 2½" high, 4½" side to side, 6" front to back. Good-very good condition; crown slightly depressed. [cs][PH:L]
