Offered here is a silver identification badge with t-bar pin on back. Badge is in shield shaped and engraved with “J.J. Dixon / Co. I / 144th Regt. / N.Y.V.” Badge is complete and very fine in every aspect. Measures 0.93” tall x 0.73” across.

John J. Dixon wasn18 years old when he enlisted on 8/14/1862 at Sidney, NY as a Private in Company “I” of the 144th New York Infantry. He was Mustered Out on 6/25/1865 at Hilton Head, SC. The 144th operated in Washington DC, Virginia and then in the deep South.  [jet] [ph:L]
