Tipton cabinet card “Theological Seminary from West end of Chambersburg St” written on back in pencil.  Ornate back mark with an artist at an easel and photographer with camera on tripod reads “W. H. Tipton Artistic Portraits Battlefield Views” among other studio information.  The view is looking west up Seminary Ridge and shows Schmucker Hall in the distance.  Three boys are visible on a bridge over the culvert that runs along Chambersburg Pike.  The first building to the right of Schmucker Hall is the Krauth House built in 1834 to house professors.  The image is light but in good condition.  The card measures 5” x 8”.  [dm][ph:L]
