This is a finely made reproduction of the Colt Texas Paterson revolver, issued by the United States Historical Society of Richmond, Virginia, as a limited edition of 1,000. This example is serial number 31, with matching numbers stamped on the loading lever, frame, and barrel lug.

The 7 1/2-inch octagonal barrel is inlaid with silver bands at the muzzle and breech and is engraved along the top strap "SAMUEL COLT TEXAS PATERSON." The frame, hammer, and loading lever display dense scroll engraving throughout, with vivid case-hardened colors on the lever and hammer. The cylinder bears a finely rolled hunting scene flanked by twin silver inlaid bands. Grips are genuine mother-of-pearl, secured with brass pins. The finish overall is a bright blue with case-color highlights and shows only light handling wear consistent with a piece that has spent its life cased.

The mahogany presentation case is fitted with burgundy velvet-lined recesses for the revolver and its accessories, and the lid interior carries the printed "Patent Arms Manufacturing Co., Paterson, New Jersey" instructional placard used on this commemorative issue. A lower drawer holds a pair of white cotton display gloves and the case key. Accessories include a brass powder flask, a 36-caliber bullet mold, a cleaning rod, a small screwdriver, and a nipple capper bearing the Colt seal (running horse, "Colt's Patent").
