A very pleasing horn, showing incredibly fine, dense turning to the base plug. 9-1/2 inches overall with cream colored body shading just slightly to brown near the tip. Spout is turned with two narrow incised lines at the tip, and two deeper grooves further down, just above the staple, each of which contains several, shorter, even more finely turned ridges and grooves. The base of the horn is circled by a pair of very fine lines, with the bottom of the base plug showing more deeply turned grooves followed by a convex band with a pair of narrow incised lines at its top and bottom, surmounted by a chip-carved band, and a stepped mound to the top with a dense series of incised lines and ridges, and flat top band around the central dimple with the lower iron carrying ring inside.

The spout is a light brown matching the upper body of the horn. The base plug is a pleasing deep brown. Very minor scratches or age spots. Please see our photos. The intricate turning of the bottom of the base plug is particularly impressive. [sr][ph:m]
