.28 CALIBER CUPFIRE CARTRIDGE

Willard Ellis and John White patented this cartridge in 1859.  This copper cartridge held the priming compound within the bottom edge of the “cup” in order to circumvent Smith & Wesson’s rimfire patent. This size cartridge was used in the Plant front-loading “Pocket Revolvers” made by Eagle Arms Company in New York. No head stamp. Good condition. [JET][ph:JET]
