This semi-bright bayonet shows is complete and in very nice condition.  Only very minor pitting is noted in select areas and the surfaces are free of rust and major wear.  Locking ring and tension screw are securely attached and functional.  No US stamp.

The scabbard is of the later Pattern of 1863, featuring 8 rivets in place of the older design, which utilized stitching and fewer rivets.  Minor crazing is noted along the body, but no cracks or creasing is observed.  The frog loop bears partial manufacturer and inspector stamps.  Stitching around the throat is secure, as is the entire body seam.  Leather remains supple and has given to more of a darker brown color in some areas.  Finial is secured by original pins.

Ideal for display or to fill a collection spot with a nice example of a nearly-ubiquitous Civil War weapon.   [cm][ph:L]
