This small brass token meas. approx. 1.00 across with a small hole punched at top center.

The obverse has a bust of General Scott at center in left profile surrounded by “MAJ. GEN. WINFIELD SCOTT.”

Reverse has a list of his battles that reads “CHIPPEWA, LUNDYS LANE, CERRO GORDO, CONTRERAS, CHURUBUSCO, CHAPULTEPEC, MEXICO.”

Token is in very nice condition with much of the original gilt remaining in the lower surfaces of the token.

There is no date but the token must have been produced around 1852 when Scott was the Whig candidate for president but was defeated by Franklin Pierce. [ad] [ph:L]
