This framed limited edition Publisher’s Proof is one of Gallon’s “The Commanders Series”; it features a scene on the evening of June 30, 1863, on the Cashtown Road. Brigadier General John Buford meets with Colonel William Gamble. They discuss intelligence reports and finalize the concept for a delaying action. Commissioned by the Command & General Staff College, Ft. Leavenworth, KS. Released in 1992. Dedicated to the memory of Michael Shaara, author of The Killer Angels.

The wood frame measures 36” x 27”; the visible portion of the triple matted print measures 27” x 17 ¾”.  Signed and numbered 46 of 50 in pencil by the artist.  The print is in excellent condition; the frame exhibits just a few scratches, with wear along its bottom edge.
