This unusually shaped small glass measures 4” in height, 2 ½” across, and a narrow 1” wide. A forest scen is engraved on one side, with a cross, a small open building with a flag waving above, and a horned animal.  The wording below is difficult to make out, but is something like, “Rietcheulprung i. Carlsbad”.  Apparently this type of item would have been made for the early Grand Tour tourist souvenir trade, mid-1800s.

Each end of the piece has a lovely vertical floral pattern.  The rather plain red back with a design at each corner has sustained a good deal of surface scratches from age and/or use. Otherwise in very nice condition.  [ld] [ph:L]
