Lisa was born and raised in Erie, PA (home of Colonel Strong Vincent, one of the heroes of Little Round Top). A lifelong, deep interest in Civil War history, and history in general, and a love of the Gettysburg area, prompted her to relocate to Adams County.
Lisa has been a full time employee at The Horse Soldier since 1998. Her main responsibility among many is the maintenance of our web catalog, including shooting the majority of the photographs that accompany the item descriptions. She earned a bachelor's degree in history from Penn State University in 1989, which combined with an interest in photography, is a natural fit for those duties.
Personally, she has taken thousands of photographs of the battlefield, many of which can be viewed online at Flickr. The natural beauty of Gettysburg National Military Park provides an ever changing scenic backdrop to sites of such historic importance.
You will find Lisa's husband, Andy De Cusati, at the shop as a salesperson and at the front counter. She is the stepmother of Andy’s two now adult sons.
